Product Processing & Food Sorting
Volunteers are needed to work in our warehouse on a variety of projects, including sorting, evaluating, cleaning, and packaging donated food prior to distribution. The
following shifts are available at NIFB's St. Charles location:

Monday - Thursday: 9:00 am - noon -
Tuesday & Thursday: 1:00 pm
- 4:00 pm -
Tuesday -
1st & 3rd of every month: 6:00 pm
- 8:30 pm -
Thursday – 2nd of every month: 6:00pm – 9:00pm. 4th of
every month: 6:00pm – 8:00pm (Youth Shift) -
Saturday - 1st three of every month: 9:00 am
- 11:30 am , 4th Saturday: 9:00 am
- 11:00 am (Youth Shift)-
Second Saturday - 1:00pm - 3:30pm
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age during regular shifts and 8 years of
age during youth shifts to work in the warehouse. The week leading up to the 4th
Saturday of the month is considered a youth week. During this week, volunteers
can be as young as 8 years old. Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by
an adult 21 years of age or older.
* Volunteer Groups: Other days and times are
available depending on the size of your group. NIFB is capable of accommodating
individual volunteers and groups of up to 100 people at our St. Charles
location. Many companies and organizations find volunteering at NIFB an
excellent team-building experience. For planning purposes, volunteers must sign
up in advance.
