Frozen Meat Evaluating & Sorting
Volunteers work with frozen meat from our Food Recovery Program. Our volunteers
inspect, sort, re-label and pack donated meat. There is some lifting required
and all positions require volunteers to stand on concrete floors.

Tuesdays from 1:00pm-4:00pm

Wednesdays from 5:00pm - 7:30 p.m.

The 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:00am-11:30am

4th Saturday: 9:00am-11:00am (Youth Shift)
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age during regular
shifts and 8 years of age during youth shifts to work in the warehouse. The week
leading up to the 4th Saturday of the month is considered a youth week. During
this week, volunteers can be as young as 8 years old. Youth under the age of 16
must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older. *Note for Volunteer
Groups: Other days and times may be available depending on the size of your
group. Our Lake County branch can accommodate individuals and groups of up to 35
people. Many companies and organizations find volunteering at NIFB an
excellent team-building experience.
