You
will have two chances to
see the Holiday Train this
year. The Canadian
Pacific Railway has added
a stop on Friday, December
5th in Pingree Grove at
10:00 am. This is
the first time that the
Holiday Train will be
coming through that area.
Or come
out to Viking Park in
Gurnee on Tuesday,
December 9th at 5:15 PM and join in
the holiday spirit.
You won't want to miss
this opportunity to see
the Canadian Pacific
Holiday Train decked out
with thousands and
thousands of holiday
lights. Last year’s festivities
in Gurnee offered an array of
musical entertainment,
tasty treats donated by
varies food vendors and
Santa himself.
Donate a non-perishable
food item or make a
monetary gift to help our hungry neighbors. Donations topped
$45,000 and we are looking
to do even better this
year! The
Holiday Train is sponsored
by the Gurnee Chamber of
Commerce, an affiliate of
the Lake County Chamber of
Commerce, and the Village
of Pingree Grove.
“The Canadian Pacific
Holiday Train has become a
regular part of the
Northern Illinois Food
Bank’s Christmas tradition
in Lake County and we look
forward adding this event
in Pingree Grove,” said
Dennis Smith executive
director and CEO of the
Northern Illinois Food
Bank. “We are so grateful
for the Lake County
Chamber of Commerce, the
Village of Pingree Grove, and
the Canadian Pacific
Railway for their
generosity in providing
hope to families in need.”
