September 1 - September 30

Jewel-Osco & Fox 32 "Give a Little Feed a Lot" Promo
Jewel-Osco will be collecting funds and

food at all of their locations throughout the month of September to be divided by food banks represented in their areas of service. Partnering with Fox Channel 32, live remotes will take place every Thursday at a different store to build community support.  Come out to the Jewel at 2164 Bloomingdale in Glendale Heights on September 10th between 5:30 am and 10:00 am to show your support on Fox TV!

September 1 & 24

Peapod Virtual Food Drive
For all customers of Peapod in the NIFB service area, Peapod will be hosting a virtual food drive on their website.  Just sign in and click on the link for the virtual food drive to make your donation.  Donations benefit programs operated by Northern Illinois Food Bank to feed hungry people.

September 1-30th T-Mobile Express Wireless Food Drive

Through the end of September, T-Mobile customers who bring in canned goods will receive a $1.00 discount off the purchase of a phone, with a maximum discount of $20 per phone.  Those not in the market for a phone are encouraged to make a donation of food items.

September 14-16, 21-23, & 28-30

Jewel-Osco Shop & Share
Go to your local Jewel-Osco on these dates with a Shop & Share ID slip and 5% of your grocery bill will be donated to Northern Illinois Food Bank.  All you have to do is download the ID slip and present it at the register when you check out.  It's that easy!  Do your shopping on the above dates to make a difference.  Tell your friends, family, and neighbors!

Sara Lee and Hamilton Partners Make a Difference During Hunger Action Month!                                                           Sara Lee will host its third annual Hunger Action Month Virtual Food Drive from September 14th - 25th.  Sara Lee employees will once again rally together to raise donations to help hungry people served by NIFB.

Sara Lee & Hamilton Partners will join together once again to help fight hunger.  From September 14th - 25th employees will participate in a physical food drive to help raise food for the hungry served by NIFB.

September 15th Macy's "World's Largest Party" Kick-Off!

Join all Macy’s stores on September 15^th at 6pm for the World’s Largest Dinner Party!  “First Course” Events at 650 Stores will serve as a kick-off for this amazing event.  Northern Illinois Food Bank representatives will be present at the 8 Macy’s stores in its service area to accept monetary donations and inform customers about hunger in the 13 northern Illinois counties served by NIFB.  Attend this event to learn more about hunger in northern Illinois and how you can get involved! Fox Valley (Aurora), Stratford Square (Bloomingdale), The Promenade (Bolingbrook), Louis Joliet Mall (Joliet), Oak Brook Center (Oak Brook), Cherryvale (Rockford), Hawthorn Center (Vernon Hills), and Spring Hill (West Dundee).

September 17 NIFB's 2nd Annual "The Art of Giving"
Cantigny Park in Wheaton serves as the site of this event on Thursday, September 17th.  Enjoy delicious food and wine pairings while viewing artwork on display by more than 25 local artists for just $75 per ticket. The event will be held in the Le Jardin set against the beautiful backdrop of the Cantigny Gardens.  The event is generously sponsored by Oberweis Dairy.  Proceeds from the event will benefit NIFB. September 18 - 20 Panera Bread Cereal Drive

Please join us for the 2009 Panera Bread Cereal Drive to help fight hunger in our communities.  Bring one box of cereal to any participating Panera Bread bakery-cafe in the Chicagoland area and receive a coupon for a FREE Grilled Breakfast Sandwich.  In partnership with CBS 2 Chicago and benefiting Northern Illinois Food Bank, Greater Chicago Food Depository, and the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.  Remember, Some Knead, Some Give!

September 26 - October 11 ShareFest Food Drive

The ShareFest Food Drive is part of Catalyst's annual season of service that involves more than 50 churches and thousands of volunteers across Lake County.  All food collected will benefit food pantries across Lake County.  Multiple drop off locations will be available.  More information to come!  Click here to read more about the food drive!

September 24th Macy's Oak Brook Culinary Event to Benefit NIFB

In addition to Macy’s World’s Largest Dinner Party kick-off events, selected stores will throw larger-scale dinner parties, hosted by Macy’s Culinary Council chefs.  On September 24^th, NIFB will be the beneficiary of the Culinary Event to be held at the Oak Brook Macy’s.  Customers will be asked to make a donation to attend these events and 100% of event proceeds will benefit NIFB! 

September 24th Dell Inc.

1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Dell Inc. in Buffalo Grove has chosen Northern Illinois Food Bank as the beneficiary for their first Charity Golf Outing!  Employees and their families will enjoy a day of golf while helping to raise funds to feed more hungry people served by the Food Bank.  For more info about golfing or sponsoring this event, please contact NIFB at 630.443.6910 ext 125.
