For two years, Dominick's has supported Northern Illinois Food Bank by being the Benefactor Sponsor of its annual Donor Appreciation Dinner. This event is the Food Bank's premier opportunity to honor the individuals, corporations, and foundations that give their resources, time, and talent in the fight against local hunger. Dominick's support of this event helps strengthen the partnerships that are needed to create a hunger-free northern Illinois.

Dominick's supports NIFB's mission throughout the year by donating food from its distribution warehouse. Dominick's retail stores also donate nutritious perishable food to NIFB's Food Recovery Program to help low-income children, seniors, and families who need food assistance. Recently, Dominick's donated a trailer to the Food Bank to improve food acquisition and distribution to its partner food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and group homes.

As a participant site for National Hunger Awareness Day's Hunger Helpers Weekends, Dominick's helps increase awareness of local hunger and raise funds for local food assistance agencies. Dominick's employees volunteer at the Food Bank and serve on the Board of Directors.
