NIFB has a mission to provide nutritious food to all those in need through our own efforts and those of our non-profit partners.
NIFB is a source of food assistance for the hungry.
NIFB is a member of America's Second Harvest - The Nations Food Bank Network.
NIFB gathers, handles, cleans, and distributes donated food from national food manufactures, food retailers and individuals to a network of Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens, Shelters and other care providers.
NIFB advocates locally and with Illinois State government representatives on behalf of hungry neighbors.
NIFB ensures that all financial donations made by individuals or companies are used both wisely and judiciously to make a positive impact against hunger.
NIFB is a major force in your community in identifying hunger and bringing forth a plan of help to reduce it.
NIFB works to serve thirteen northern Illinois counties with a combined population of over 3.8 million people of whom 275,008 are at or below the poverty level.
NIFB is committed to ending hunger in northern Illinois.
