The Midwest Harvest Cluster is a partnership between the Northern Illinois Food Bank and the America’s Second Harvest affiliate food banks listed below.

The purpose of this alliance is to help the member food banks alleviate hunger by:

• Reducing food acquisition costs.
• Increasing product quality, quantity and variety.
• Sharing knowledge and resources.

MAROON LOADS:

Occasionally, food banks will get product in quantities in excess of what they can distribute through their normal channels. Food banks share product with other food banks and food relief organizations. Maroon Loads through the America's Second Harvest CHOICE system are one method of sharing.
